Hamlet writes a new letter requesting that Rosencrantz and Guildenstern be killed as soon as they reach England. He seals it with his royal ring. The only loyal friend Hamlet has is Horatio, and this relationship is one of the only examples of true friendship and loyalty in the entire play.
As the previous answerer already mentioned, in Hamlet's mind Ophelia has betrayed him by sharing his private love letters with her father. Hamlet is rather disgusted with the actions of his mother Gertrude and his uncle Claudius.
He feels betrayed , and also feels that they have betrayed his father by marrying. By the end of the tragedy, Hamlet has caused the deaths of Polonius , Laertes , Claudius , and two acquaintances of his from the University of Wittenberg Rosencrantz and Guildenstern. He is also indirectly involved in the deaths of his love Ophelia drowning and of his mother Gertrude poisoned by Claudius by mistake. He mixes up their names. He guesses what they're up to right away, and they admit they were sent for by the King and Queen.
Ambassadors returning later report that " Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are dead. First, Laertes is cut by his own sword's blade, and, after revealing to Hamlet that Claudius is responsible for the queen's death, he dies from the blade's poison. Hamlet then stabs Claudius through with the poisoned sword and forces him to drink down the rest of the poisoned wine.
In Act 4 Scene 7, Queen Gertrude reports that Ophelia had climbed into a willow tree There is a willow grows aslant the brook , and the branch had broken and dropped Ophelia into the brook, where she drowned.
Gertrude says that Ophelia appeared "incapable of her own distress". In Hamlet, the ghost also feels betrayed by Hamlet because Hamlet does not kill Claudius immediately like he promised, instead Hamlet is confused on killing Claudius because he does not know if the ghost is good or evil.
This obsession eventually proved Rosencrantz, Guildenstern and Polonius had spied him. Despite all the extra stress and pressure Hamlet remained in control and continued his plan being proactive, until he reaches his peripeteia forced him to become reactive.
This turning point of fortune occurred during the play he hosted using renowned actors to…. Claudius decides to send Hamlet to England out of fear for himself and the kingdom. After Prince Hamlet learned who killed his father, the command to take revenge did not turn into the sudden act as anticipated. O God! Hamlet being an honourable man, knows killing….
He questions whether he is a coward for not taking action. After this ordeal Hamlet starts to plan again to try and catch the king looking guilty. Is Hamlet cautious in his planning because he wants everything to work out right or because he is stalling the murder he plans to commit? The opposition suggests that Hamlet was in fact capable to make rational and logical decisions. We see Hamlet acting mad on purpose to fool his enemies; Hamlet can not be as mad as we think.
This means that the killing of Rosencrantz and Guildenstern was a plan made decisively and with care. But mad in craft. Thaw and resolve itself into a dew! Or that the Everlasting had not fix'd. His canon 'gainst self-slaughter! O God! How weary, stale, flat and unprofitable,. Seem to me all the uses of this world!
Another argument proposed was that Hamlet killed Rosencrantz and Guildenstern due to their treason to their rightful king not to him. All that mattered was showing devotion to the new king to form trust for personal gain. The fact that they buried him quickly with no formality is what hurts Ophelia and what makes Gertrude guilty.
Why does the Queen agree to go see her? Horatio suggests that she should because Ophelia might lead those with evil intentions to dangerous conclusions. To kill Claudius because he thinks Claudius killed Polonius, his father. Hamlet then asks Gertrude to convince the king that he is mad. This is to prevent Claudius from supposing any plot of revenge.
